The Geothermal Ramifications of Dinosaur Farts

A team of British biologists theorize that giant, herbivorous dinosaurs like Apatosaurus, pictured above, could have created, by farting alone, 250% of the greenhouse gasses currently being produced by humans over the course of a year. This quantity of methane could have had a significant effect on the global climate. Click to read more about how the researchers made this projection and what it could have meant.

  • Due Tues., 5/8: p. 615, #33, 35, 37, 44, 60, 61, 66. These ask you to do three things:
    1. Write a quadratic equation in standard form: ax2+bx+c=0
    2. Factor the ax2+bx+c expression
    3. Use the factored form to find both solutions (x-intercepts).
    You must show some kind of check that demonstrates your factorization works. You will not get credit for solutions based on faulty factorization.
