CSL (Group W only) due Friday
Send water bottles
Consider the ideas that the class generated today as ways to help Puerto Ricans with access to food and clean water (list below).
1. Make a list of pros and cons for each. Remember to openly consider ways that people conduct drives for material items. You are not making a decision yet, you are evaluating the ideas by listing the positive and negative issues around each option. (see list generated by class below)
2. Then, do some web research to further inform yourself about these ideas. Notice the following:
Has anyone else helped in these ways?
How did they do it?
Are there different ways to get to the same result?
Can you imagine some creative "work-arounds"?
How did the research change your thinking or add to what you already knew about an idea?
Write down ideas you think of for how your group might approach the project and provide the links for two sources you visited while doing this research.
Here's the list your class came up with:
Food & Clean Water
Provide water filters (straws)
Water Filter book
Dig wells
Battery powered mini stoves
canned & other non-perishable food drive (MREs/freeze-dried food, rice, pop tarts, macaroni & cheese)
Coolers/refrigerators for food
Fire starting flashlights
Send seeds for edible plants
Send cases of water bottles
