General Announcements:

• You must have an independent reading book every day. If you are getting close to the end of one, have the next one at school and ready to go.

Math:

• 7th Grade:
  • Due Tues., 3/23:
    • (Extra requirement) 7.4B - follow directions. Be sure to explain how you got your answers and show all calculations.
    • Do p. 76 #1-5. Use formulas for area A=πr² and circumference C=πd or C=2πr. Use π=3.14.
• 8th Grade:
  • Due Tues., 3/23: Do odd # problems on p. 145 (handout). Show all work; use symbolic method, Pythagorean Theorem, and known properties of 30°-60°-90° and isosceles right triangles (Click to visit quick reference from last week's blog)

Social Studies:

• None assigned.

Science:

• Due Tue., 3/23: Two ¶s and a sketch:
  • ¶ 1: Summarize today's activity of planting and preparing the "growing system" for our Brassica rapa seed.
  • ¶ 2: Reflection on whether a seed is alive or not. Explain your reasoning.
  • Sketch 1/3 of a page large of what you think is inside the seed.

Language Arts:

• Due Wed., 3/24: Read Ch. 10 & 11 in Children of Willesden Lane.

Spanish:

• 7th Grade:
  • Chapter 7: 10 drawings with Spanish from chapter.

• 8th Grade:
  • Capítulo 6 en Robo en la noche: translations from class.

Moment of Zen: He wasn't in the clip you saw Friday in All-School, so here's Cheburashka, the cute little protagonist of the show with the singing, accordion-playing crocodile.
