Homework -- 4/2

REMINDER - TOMORROW, 4/3, IS A LATE START. SCHOOL WILL OPEN AT 9:15 A.M. NOTE: Students are to always have their current independent reading book with them in school. They should be reading for 20 minutes daily in their independent reading book. Language Arts Assigned today: Due Friday, 4/3, write a well-developed answer to the open response question about Rico - based on graphic organizer and article. Also, record the time you began and the time you ended your writing on your homework paper. Previously assigned/still due: None Math Reminder: Everyone must have their own calculator at school. Assigned today: 7th Grade: Due Friday, 4/3, on Additional Practice, Investigation 7, do the following problems only: #1, 2, & 3. Use the formulas we've developed and pi= to 3.14. Show how you got each answer. Calculators may be used, as usual, for CMP assignments (Covering and Surrounding). 8th Grade: Due Friday, 4/3, us the Pythagorean Theorem to find the helicopter distances in #8, 9, 10, and 11 on p. 35. Also, use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve #14, 15, and 16 on p. 36. (Looking for Pythagoras). Previously Assigned/still due: 7th: None 8th: None Note: When needed, you can always get grid paper from the internet. Social Studies Assigned today: Due Friday, 4/3, read pp. 202-203 and do parts A & B on p. 203 of handout ("The Triangular Trade"). Due Monday, 4/6, read "Judaism" handout, and answer questions on handout. Also, highlight parts that are interesting or about which you have questions. Previously Assigned/still due: None Science Assigned today: None Previously Assigned/still due: None Spanish Assigned today: 7th Grade: None 8th Grade: None Previously Assigned/still due: 7th Grade & 8th Grade: Spanish Projects will be due Friday, 4/17 (after Spring Break). We will present them and enjoy Hispanic dishes that day!
8th Grade Project
  • Write something everyday in your journal (except weekends, unless otherwise arranged with advisor): entries should be dated and focused on how your independent project is going, your feelings about it, challenges, successes.
  • Journals are turned in every Friday morning (onto Marc's table). If we do not have school on Friday, they are turned in at the end of the day on Thursday.
Atelier
  • Due Wednesday, 4/8, finish second composition. Place in "Other" homework bin in morning on 4/8.

  • 8th grade - L.A. journal (for project entry)
  • L.A. - "Rico" handout
  • Social Studies handouts - "The Triangular Trade" and "Judaism"
  • Math 7 - math book and binder, and handout
  • Math 8 - math book and binder, and handout of p. 35
