Homework -- 3/30

NOTE: Students are to always have their current independent reading book with them in school. They should be reading for 20 minutes daily in their independent reading book. Language Arts Assigned today: Due Tuesday, 3/31, have your independent reading book with you in all classes. If you need to use the class library, do it before 3 p.m. today, Monday. Use the established library system. Grade 8 only: Bring all 8th grade Project research resources to school in an organized way. Previously assigned/still due: None Math Reminder: Everyone must have their own calculator at school. Assigned today: 7th Grade: Due Wednesday, 4/1, Math's Mate Term 4, Sheet 4. DueTuesday, 3/31, on p. 78, do all of #13 and only a & b of #14. Show your strategy and calculation - not just answers (Covering and Surrounding). 8th Grade: Due Wednesday, 4/1, Math's Mate Term 3, Sheet 4. Due Tuesday, 3/31, complete 3.3 on p. 31 according to directions. Use the symbolic method accurately when applying the Pythagorean Theorem to solve any problem with a right triangle (Looking for Pythagoras). Previously Assigned/still due: 7th: None 8th: None Note: When needed, you can always get grid paper from the internet. Social Studies Assigned today: Due Tuesday, 3/31, complete Judaism survey. Previously Assigned/still due: None Science Assigned today: Due Wednesday, 4/1, read pp. 127-133, answer questions 1, 3-5 and Challenge #2 on p. 134. Previously Assigned/still due: None Spanish Assigned today: 7th Grade: Study vocabulary  8th Grade: None Previously Assigned/still due: 8th Grade: Due Tuesday, 3/31, translation of p. 36 OR 37. 7th Grade & 8th Grade: Spanish Projects will be due Friday, 4/17 (after Spring Break). We will present them and enjoy Hispanic dishes that day!
8th Grade Project
  • Write something everyday in your journal (except weekends, unless otherwise arranged with advisor): entries should be dated and focused on how your independent project is going, your feelings about it, challenges, successes.
  • Journals are turned in every Friday morning (onto Marc's table). If we do not have school on Friday, they are turned in at the end of the day on Thursday.
Atelier
  • Due Wednesday, 4/1, finish first compositions.
Materials Needed for Homework to be Taken Home:
  • 8th grade - L.A. journal (for project entry)
  • Math book and binder
  • Math 8 - labsheet 3.3
  • Spanish Gr. 8 - pages for translation
  • Social Studies - Judaism survey handout
  • Science handout - "Energy and Machines"
