Family on the Moon
Astronaut Charles Duke left this photo of his family on the moon at the end of the Apollo 16 mission in 1972. Conditions on the moon mean that the photo, just like astronauts' footprints, is preserved exactly as it was 40 years ago. Click to read Duke's reminiscences about his three days on the moon.
