When National Pride Makes You Hungry...

To promote the Sydney International Food Festival in Australia, a company was commissioned to style flags of various countries out of food related to the country. For example, the Indian flag pictured above is made out of stripes of orange and green curries and a white stripe of rice, with the wheel symbol represented by a pappadum (thin, crispy lentil chip). Click to see more food flags, including China, Italy, Lebanon, and the star-spangled Australian flag.

A different way of having your nose in a book

As part of an ad campaign for Dutch Book week in March, which this year focuses on biographies, they took off from the idea of biographies as "Written Portraits" (Geschreven Portretten) and carved a 3D image of the subject's face from their biography. Anne Frank is pictured above; click to see more.
