Homework -- 4/8

NOTE: Students are to always have their current independent reading book with them in school. They should be reading for 20 minutes daily in their independent reading book. Tomorrow MCAS testing will continue, so it is especially important that everyone has an independent reading book with them. Language Arts Assigned today: None Previously assigned/still due: None Math Reminder: Everyone must have their own calculator at school. Assigned today: 7th Grade: None (Covering and Surrounding). 8th Grade: None (Looking for Pythagoras). Previously Assigned/still due: 7th: Due Thursday, 4/9, complete Math's Mate Term 3, Sheet 5. 8th: Due Thursday, 4/9, complete Math's Mate Term 2, Sheet 5. Note: When needed, you can always get grid paper from the internet. Social Studies Assigned today: Due Thursday, 4/9, with colored pencil, make illustration of your image from Exodus. You must have your image design approved and use assigned paper. Previously Assigned/still due: None Science Assigned today: None Previously Assigned/still due: Due Thursday, 4/9, on handout, p. 151, answer Vocabulary questions 1-5 and Concepts 6.1 questions 1 & 4-8. Spanish Assigned today: 7th Grade: None 8th Grade: None Previously Assigned/still due: 7th Grade: For Thursday, 4/9, for the story "El Pelo de Pepe," match a sentence from the story with each of the 12 pictures. 7th Grade & 8th Grade: Spanish Projects will be due Friday, 4/17 (before Spring Break). We will present them and enjoy Hispanic dishes that day!
8th Grade Project
  • Write something everyday in your journal (except weekends, unless otherwise arranged with advisor): entries should be dated and focused on how your independent project is going, your feelings about it, challenges, successes.
  • Journals are turned in every Friday morning (onto Marc's table). If we do not have school on Friday, they are turned in at the end of the day on Thursday.

Materials Needed for Homework to be Taken Home:
  • 8th grade - L.A. journal (for project entry)
  • Math's Mate
  • Science handout (p. 151)
  • Spanish 7 - "El Pelo de Pepe" handouts
  • Social Studies - materials for drawing from Exodus (assigned paper, preliminary sketch, colored pencils)
