Homework -- 4/13

NOTE: Students are to always have their current independent reading book with them in school. They should be reading for 20 minutes daily in their independent reading book. Language Arts Note: Have L.A. journal in class with you all the time. Assigned today: Due Wednesday, 4/15, type the first draft of a narrative poem (tells a story) based on a conversation with an elder at Hampshire Care. Send this to yourself so you can access it easily at school. Previously assigned/still due: None Math Reminder: Everyone must have their own calculator at school. Assigned today: 7th Grade: Due Tuesday, 4/14, do #1 of the Question Bank (xeroxed copy). answer all questions in complete sentences. Show how you arrived at your answers for d, e, and f. Show all computations. (this is for test review.) (Covering and Surrounding). 8th Grade: Due Tuesday, 4/14, do 4.2 Follow-Up on p. 44. (You will need 4.2 labsheet.) (Looking for Pythagoras). Previously Assigned/still due: 7th: None 8th: None Note: When needed, you can always get grid paper from the internet. Social Studies Assigned today: None Previously Assigned/still due: None Science Assigned today: Due Tuesday, 4/14, read ch. 6.3, "Simple Machines," pp. 140-143. Due Wednesday, 4/15, complete questions/graph - "World Energy Consumption." Previously Assigned/still due: 8th Grade Only - Due Tuesday, 4/14, finish writing terms and their definitions from handout ("Shaping the Crust") into notebook; do #1, #3, and #4 on the second page of handout. Spanish Assigned today: 7th Grade: Study vocabulary from "El Pelo de Pepe." 8th Grade: Due Tuesday, 4/14, translate p. 44. Previously Assigned/still due: 7th Grade: None 7th Grade & 8th Grade: Spanish Projects will be due Friday, 4/17 (before Spring Break). We will present them and enjoy Hispanic dishes that day!
8th Grade Project
  • Write something everyday in your journal (except weekends, unless otherwise arranged with advisor): entries should be dated and focused on how your independent project is going, your feelings about it, challenges, successes.
  • Journals are turned in every Friday morning (onto Marc's table). If we do not have school on Friday, they are turned in at the end of the day on Thursday.
