More Crazy Contraptions

There are still delightfully nutsy inventors in action—engineer Scott Amron has quite the gallery, including the "Brush and Rinse" toothbrush (above), which takes a normal stream of tap water and angles it into a water-fountain arc, saving you sticking your head under the tap or using up cups. It may not solve any significant world problems, but it sure is neat.

• Due Wed., 3/23: Complete your 3¶ summary/reflection on the Jerusalem documentary we've been watching in class, Jerusalem: Center of the World, according to the sheet handed out today. Your writing should be typed, double-spaced.

Hindus in India and around the world celebrated Holi, part of the Hindu spring festival, by throwing colored powder at anyone and everything this past weekend. • March 16, 17 & 18 - Wed., 3/16 will be an early dismissal day (No Homework Club), and on Thurs., 3/17 and Fri., 3/18, there will be no school for students.

Before and After the Japanese Seismic Event

The Australian Broadcasting Company has posted an interesting set of photos related to last week's disaster in Japan. Each of the photos is made up of two satellite images: one from before the event and one after, each of the exact same place. You can slide back and forth between the two and compare.
