Assigned today: Due Wednesday, 5/13, in L.A. journal, write a sincere, in-depth 2-page letter to author Carol Dommermuth-Costa responding to the following: "What I have gained from Reading
Emily Dickinson: Singular Poet." Begin by brainstorming ideas at top of first page of letter. (Develop with specific details, examples.)
Due Thursday, 5/14, complete the reading of ch. 1 of
Lyddie. In L.A. journal, write a dated entry that has a quotation/passage from the chapter you want the class to discuss. Be ready for a comprehension quiz on ch. 1.
Previously assigned/still due: Due Wednesday, 5/13, interview parent using "Graduation Music Selection Form" - and your own questions - and record results, according to directions. (Feel free to add own ideas to brainstormed list.)

8th Grade Project
- Write something everyday in your journal (except weekends, unless otherwise arranged with advisor): entries should be dated and focused on how your independent project is going, your feelings about it, challenges, successes.
- Journals are turned in every Friday morning (onto Marc's table). If we do not have school on Friday, they are turned in at the end of the day on Thursday.
